]]>Just thought i'd share my thoughts/experiences with C&C. I've had a 5L tub for a while and i use it to keep on top of my wheels. I wasn't sure at first but i've really grown to like it, and i've found it's best to use after Decon gel to remove final traces of dirt, and lay down some decent protection.
Lots of sceptical thoughts about it not really working, but here's the proof. Car was last cleaned 2 weeks ago with C&C, and here is a picture of the wheel yesterday. Done around 700 miles in 2 weeks, trip to Cardiff and back yesterday being the longest!
Pretty good considering it's lying over some dirt! Gave the car a quick wash but the wheels were pre-sprayed with Espuma Revolution (another great wheel cleaner!), left for 5 mins and pressure rinsed, followed by a good clean and a light scrub with Wolf's Clean and Coat. Here they are after a rinse:
No other protection other than the wheel cleaner. (I know the calipers need sorting ASAP, will be going Hammerite black as soon as i get the chance!)

Now, I would hope that we all know what level of preperation goes into a thorough and concise detail and how preperation is key. I will skip the 'Im brushing wheels and look at my hand washing a car' pic's though for those interested:
- Roof dampened.
- Renovo cleaner applied.
- Renovo cleaner agitated after dwelling.
- Roof rinsed thoroughly.
- Rinse wheels thoroughly.
- Apply non acid cleaner to inside & outside of wheels.
- Agitate with various soft bristle brushes.
- Rinse wheels thoroughly.
- Apply citrus based degreaser to wheel arches.
- Agitate with various soft bristle brushes.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Apply citrus based degreaser to all lower sections of the vehicle to remove road grime | traffic film and bug debris.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Apply citrus based degreaser to all doorshute | boot shut.
- Agitate with various brushes.
- Rinse clean.
- Rinse whole vehicle.
- Wash from top to bottom using 2 buckets | grit guards, Lambswool wash mitt and - the finest pH neutral shampoo.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Apply dedicated tar remover, leave to dwell them wipe clean with soft microfiber towels.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Decontaminate vehicle including wheels with Iron x to remove iron | metal contamination.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Remove bonded contaminants with claybar readying paintwork for pre-wax application.
- Final rinse.
- Dry using dense pile quality drying towels.
Vehicle was moved into the storage warehouse which would become my work shop for the next 2 days.
Paint was measured to establish any issues...
Couple of areas had seen some form's of thinning through polishing etc at some point of its life but in general it was quite stable and relatively consistent in comparison to some ive worked on of late. Next phase was to establish what pads | polishes were to give best correction for the level required. I have found that the Meguiars D300 | cutting microfibre discs to be very effective at first hit swirl removal but not to create that perfect finish. Once first initial set was undertaken I could get an idea of what would be needed as the next step. Some stubborn RDS were worked with Scholl concepts S17+ and Lake country purple foamed wool pad as this is a slightly more forgiving wool media, it is easily manipulated and doesnt inflict as horrific marring as some and you can really edge the scratch down to a rounded finish. Polishing set was slow and steady 3M yellow pad and S17+ collaboration again and final burnishing with 3M ultrafina se on 3M blue pad for some seriously slow and steady passes to ensure the finish is jewelled and crisp.

Being openly honest and no camera trickery or photoshop escapades, not all was perfect but was given a much needed lift and a seriously modest improvement...
Once all correction work was complete, the roof was treated to Renovo ultra proofer to establish a quality water repellent barrier.
Exhausts were polished, relevant trim dressed, glass cleaned inside and out, door shuts cleaned with an all in one product and wheels sealed. Whole vehicle was treated to a wipe down with Menzerna top inspection. Pre-wax cleansed with an all in one product then finished in Meilluer, Beau Technique's exclusive carnauba wax. The finished article looked lovely as an all round aesthetic rejuvantion...
Now rather than show the finish off with fancy lighting it was apt to bring the vehicle outdoors for a final check over...
Another vehicle completed. Another very satisfied customer and another vehicle on the road after some form's of detailing treatment by Beau Technique, happy day's.

WAXSTOCK F.A.Q.
Waxstock is the UK's first national car care show and detailing festival. Because there hasn't been one before, we know there are going to be a few questions. We've tried answering some obvious questions below.
WHAT IS WAXSTOCK?
Waxstock is the detailing gathering of the year. Inspired by Woodstock, the first and most famous music festival, Waxstock is an event that is part show, part festival but *all* car care.... You read right. This isn't just another car show with a motley assortment of car care traders hiding amongst stands selling exhausts, number plates, sweets or overpriced burgers. It's an event for valeters, detailers and car care enthusiasts that will attempt to bring together all the car care manufacturers, resellers and pro detailers it can. Under one roof, for one day only.
WHEN AND WHERE IS IT?
It is on Sunday 26th August (the bank holiday weekend late in August), so you'll still have two free days of weekend, even if you spend a day at the show. The venue is centrally located for the UK in Peterborough, East Midlands - handily on the A1 for visitors from the North East and Scotland - at the Peterborough Arena (http://www.peterborougharena.com/). Most importantly, it is INDOORS in what is arguably the best exhibition centre for detailing events - part of the arena is a glass atrium, rather than the usual dimly lit warehousing. Rain won't stop play. And it allows for lots of detailing demos with live machine polishing etc. There is FREE car parking and you won't be in a field dodging cow pats. Reasonably priced food and drink (inc beer!) will be available throughout the day.
WHY SHOULD I GO?
There will be two show and shine events, from an 'arrive and shine' on the day to a pre-qualified competition featuring the finest 16 cars that have been selected on Detailing World (by forum members). Entrants to the Top 16, showcase detailers and traders will have a whole day in advance to prepare their car or set up - so no mad rush at 6am in the morning. There will be a live demo stage and a demo area outside, if the weather permits. There will be masterclasses with pros, Q&A sessions, test benches with the chance to try out a wide selection of detailing equipment, e.g. machine polishers - and one or two competitions throughout the day. Plus, there will be a large assembly of trade stands and pro detailers, showcasing their work and products, and giving advice. If you want to meet a detailer to work on your car, or even see them in action, it's a great chance to get to meet them and see their talents.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The show will cost 8 GBP in advance or 10 GBP on the gate. The hall has a limited capacity, so advanced ticket purchase is recommended. Parking at the venue is free, so you won't be asked for extra - and there will be free entry to the 'arrive and shine' show and shine event (if you get there early enough) with goody bags and prizes to be won.
WHO IS ORGANISING IT?
Waxstock is initially being organised by Detailing World, Zaino Europe and Dodo Juice on behalf of the whole UK car care industry. All resellers, traders and detailers in the car care arena are welcome. The USA has Detail Fest and the massive SEMA motor accessories trade show, but the UK is bereft of something similar. A specialist show that is open to the trade and public is long overdue. Successful open days at detailers' units or resellers' premises show that interest is strong... other show organisers have tried to tag a little detailing onto their main event. But it's time that detailing has its own show. There are dozens of shows specifically for VWs or Fords, but not a single one for the detailing industry. That's about to change!

Over the next couple of weeks, www.waxstock.com and the Waxstock facebook page will start to fill up with further information about the show. The Morgan aero 8 S3 is the third generation aero model and the first with the much awaited for BMW mini headlights which cured the cross eyed aesthetics of the front end. A trait which always was somewhat Marmite for the masses. Coupled with a change in wheel variant,exhausts etc. There is a few variants of the gangster look where by the tailgate is more streamlined and the soft top far shorter in height, appealing to some but not all.
Sunny Sunday seen Beau Technique undertake a stage 2 protection detail including interior detail, LTT leather deep clean and protect and finished in Beau Technique's exclusive luxury carnauba wax, Meilluer.
The soft top was to be left as it was until a later date as it will be undergoing a roof re-colouring by Beau Technique. Vehicle received the following...
- Rinse wheels thoroughly.
- Apply citrus wheel cleaner to inside & outside of wheels.
- Agitate with various soft bristle brushes and wheel mitt.
- Rinse wheels thoroughly.
- Apply citrus based degreaser to wheel arches.
- Agitate with various brushes.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Apply citrus based degreaser to all lower sections of the vehicle to remove road grime | traffic film and bug debris.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Apply citrus based degreaser to all doorshute | boot shut.
- Agitate with various brushes.
- Wipe clean as to avoid any damage to leather or seals.

- Remove using high quality microfiber towels.
- Apply Beau Technique Meilluer exclusive luxury carnauba wax.
- Remove using plush pile microfiber towels.
- Treat | dress all exterior trim ( Auto Finesse revive )
- Treat | dress wheel arches ( Autoglym vynil & rubber care )
- Seal wheels with wheel sealant ( Chemical Guys wheel guard )
- Treat | dress tyres ( Zaino Z16 )
- Clean exterior glass ( Stoners glass cleaner with rain repellent )
- Polish | seal exhaust ( Britemax )
- Interior throughly vacuumed.
- Detailed brush of all interior crevices etc.
- Carpets treated to upholstery cleaner ( Valetpro heavy duty extraction cleaner )
- Fabrics protected.
- All leather surfaces treated to LTT auto ultra foam and auto protect.
- All veneered wood surfaces treated to a beeswax rich wax product.
- Glass cleaned internally ( Meguiars glass cleaner )
And time for some glorified sunny after shots for your admiration...

Had CG Fabric Clean for ages, probably bought it off Waxamomo 2 years ago, but never really had the need to use it as i've just used APC...
However, we've had the builders in and as usual, they left a greasy footprint on our cream carpet in the hallway. This was done about 2 weeks ago but only had the chance to sort it tonight. Few sprays of a very weak dilution of CG Fabric Clean and a light agitation with a stiff brush - its good as new.
Really nicely surprised by how easy it lifted the stain!

]]>Can anybody explain the best way to photograph polishing shots? Photographing swirls is something i find a little difficult. Are there any tricks/tips you guys know of that might help a novice cameraman like myself?!

]]>Last night saw me giving a couple of maintenance washes to my girlfriends Mum and Dad's nice cars! I normally wash these weekly but they haven't been done in about a month! Wolf's Body Wrap was applied in June of last year, and it has finally given up the ghost! They were very difficult to dry last night, a careful approach with 3-4 towels was needed, along with lots of patience!
Next time i think i'll schedule a whole day to decon them both, and re-protect with whatever takes my fancy at the time!
I also washed my girlfriends brothers Black VW Scirocco, but he had to rush off before i could get some finished pics! There's no real process pics, just a few befores and afters.
Befores:
Wolf's Decon Gel already applied to the wheels!
The Scirocco is washed about twice a year, not in the best condition! I reckon 2 days would get it back to it's former glory! Here is Decon gel getting to work it's wonders!
So, method as follows:
- Spray wheels with Wolf's Decon Gel and let it dwell for as long as possible!
- Hoover out interior and clean carpets
- Wipedown with APC to all dash and doorcards
- Rinse off Decon gel, and wash wheels with Espuma Revolution and a number of brushes
- Rinse body with PW, then foam with ValetPro Orange Pre-wash whilst tending to the details, and filling buckets
- 2BM wash with Wolf's White Satin
- Thoroughly dry (very patiently!) with 3-4 drying towels
- Dress tyres with Wolf's Blackout
- Dress Plastics with AF Revive
- Clean glass with MarkV Glass Cleaner
- Polish exhausts with AF Mercury and an old MF cloth
Now for some afters:
I did have a play on the Range Rover exhausts though, they were looking a little poor!

Well impressed with Auto Finesse Mercury. It's the best metal polish i've used, just seems to cut through the crap like no other i've tried!
Thanks for looking guys, i know you're probably sick of seeing these 2 by now! Don't fret, an order has just been placed for a Range Rover Evoque to replace the Mini in a great spec - 3 door, white with 20" wheels, Dynamic pack with piano black exterior trim, and a full panoramic roof! Arrives on 1st September so keep em' peeled for that!
